I found this Shelby County, Kentucky link on a Mr. John C. Reasor:
This biographical data is from "A History of the State, Battle, Perrin,
& Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887." Could someone do a look-up for me?
Specifically, I'm interested in anything that you may be able to locate
on Mr. Reasor's involvement in Napoleon's Army (L'Armee de Napoleon) or
Kentucky, e.g., the name of the ship which he sailed to the United
States on in 1857, etc..
Interestingly, I found several other links which indicate that there
were several soldier/officers from Napoleon's Army who settled in
Including one reference to Elizabeth Patterson-Bonaparte:
If anybody reading this may have "any" other information on any of the
officers/soldiers of "Napoleon Bonaparte's Army" (L'Armee de Napoleon)
who were: (1) cited on the above noted Kentucky Biographies, (2)
captured by the English, (3) taken as a prisoner of war to Canada, and
(4) settled in Kentucky; please e-mail me! Thanks in advance.
P.S., If you know of another Kentucky list that I should post this to,
please e-mail me! Thanks again.

Does anyone have access to marriage records from about 1900-1910?
I'm trying to find out about the two wives of Preston PATRICK, who was born
in 1885 in Salyersville. He was married for a second time around 1909 to
Viola PATRICK (maiden name unknown). In the 1910 Wolfe County, KY censis,
she was 17 years old and in her first marraige. Preston was in his second
marriage and had a four-year-old daughter that I belive was from his first
marriage. I'm looking for the name of his first wife and the date of that
marriage, as well as if she died or if they were divorced. Also, I'd like
to find a date of marriage to Viola.
Any help would be much appreciated.
My mother-in-law Violet Bailey will turn 80 years old on May 23. She was
born and raised in Campton, the daughter of Fred Wireman and Myrtle King
Wireman. She was the wife of Courtney Bailey who died in 1995. They
migrated to Middletown, Ohio and Courtney worked in Dayton at the Frigidaire
plant. Upon his retirement they returned to Campton and built a home where
they spent several more years. They returned to Middletown to be near their
children and grandchildren about 8 years ago. Violet has recently been
diagnosed with lung cancer, and although she is responding well to her
chemotherapy treatments, we know she will not be cured of this dreadful
disease. I hope I am not misusing the list if I ask that anyone who knows
her or her family considers sending her a birthday card. I know it would
lift her spirits considerably. Her address is: 1112 Hughes Street,
Middletown, Ohio 45042.
If you are not an acquaintance but decide to send a card anyway, please let
her know that you heard about her birthday on the internet. She is
fascinated at the information about her family that we have been able to
gather from the lists.
I apologize if I am overstepping the boundaries for uses of the list, but
then isn't family what it's all about? Thank you for your consideration.
Is anyone researching any AMYX families in Morgan or Wolfe County?
I recently found out that my grandfather - Troy ELAM, born February 8, 1896
in Wolfe County, who was the illegitmate son of Betty (Elizabeth) ELAM born
April 23, 1867 in Insko, Morgan County - was fathered by an AMYX,
according to information Troy's sister passed on to her niece.
Betty never married, but had a total of seven children (including a set of
twins) and it appears there were five different men involved. Obviously
this has not been easy trying to figure out the situation and people
involved, and I was grateful to get the information, but disappointed the
first name was not given (or maybe not known).
Does anyone have any information that might help regarding the situation,
possibly know of an AMYX man that had fathered children out of wedlock or
one who would have been the appropriate age? Or any suggestions on where to
look for information? I'm trying hard to find out the circumstances
surrounding Betty's life and any hints would be greatly appreciated. For
obvious reasons, it was something my grandfather didn't talk about, and he
died in 1966 when I was quite young.
Betty was born in Morgan County and is buried there, but was in Wolfe
County for a time, and possibly Magoffin.
Timothy Graham, 82, died at Stanton, KY, Sunday, April 25, 1999. He was
born December 10, 1916 in Campton to the late William E. Graham and
Georgianna Tipton. He is survived by five sons and seven daughters. He
was buried in the Graham Cemetery in Frozen, Breathitt County.
I am searching for which daughter of Issac Taulbee b.1830 d.1913 married
a John M. Combs. This daughter was born in Wolfe Co 1861 and died in Clark
Co KY in 1917. Any help would be appreciated.
