I noted a recent message regarding the Boone-Pennington connection. A
recent article in the Lexington Hearld-Leader provided some interesting
Boone information. While it is probably little more than of passing
interest to most on this Forum, I'll share it nevertheless:
George Boone, a Revolutionary War veteran, was a younger brother to
Daniel. He, of course, was a brother to Hanna Boone who married Richard
Pennington and therefore related to a large number of Penningtons, and
other families here in Eastern Kentucky.
George lived from 1736-1820 and married Ann Lineville. He helped defend
Fort Boonesborough in the 1780 assault. He had at least two daughters:
Elender (b.1766) who married a Wilcox and Susannah (b.1778) who married a
George is buried in the Boone-Harris Cemetery in the northern environs of
Richmond, Kentucky. For some reason, the grave markers were removed from
that cemetery and were only recently found. Because the exact location of
the graves are unknown, a memorial marker was erected recently in the
Richmond cemetery. It was dedicated to him last week by some 50 ancestors.
I'll follow up this message later today with an additional message
concerning the Pennington Research Groups and my own Pennington connection.
I thought I would let y'all know that I have a lot of Kentucky
families represented in my database at my web site for the Denton and
related families. There are over 15,000 people in the database, plus a
lot of other information on the site. If any of you have Dentons in
your lines, I would love to hear from you! There are also some
down-loadable gedcom files for families other than Denton that I have in
my at-home database, such as Hunt, Moore, Plumlee, Cooper, Chastain,
O'Dell, French, Shipman, Baker and Huff. All of these families
intersect in some way with the Dentons, but have a great deal more
information in the individual gedcoms than is on the database at the
There is a lot of other information on the site as well that you
might find interesting, as well.

I hope you find something of value!
