I am looking for info on the Rev. Jay Dickey who kept the diary that
has been so helpful in doing research in KY. Trying to make heads or
tails of some of the dates.
When was he born? When did he die ? Anything else ?

Back to the drawing board for Daniel Boone Bailey. I have discussed the matter with my mother again, and now it seems that Boone's mother's maiden name was Martha Bailey and it is unknown whether she was ever married. I had previously stated that Bailey was the name of Martha's deceased husband, but that does not seem to be the case now. What is known is that she and Boone's father, Joseph Barker, were not married.
Another clue I have just found, is that Boone was related to a woman who appears on the 1920 census as Flossie Hollon, wife of Cannis, mother of Price. She is 25 years old on this census. It is believed that one of her parents may have been a cousin to Boone's mother. If that is not the case, then Flossie and Boone may have been cousins. I do not know Flossie's maiden name, but she had a well-educated brother named Cordie, and another brother who shot himself to death. If any of this rings a bell with someone, I would appreciate getting more information on this family.
Thanks to all who have responded so far, and to all who may have more help with this further information.
HARVEY, HALL AND WAGGONER in Cecil Co. MD, Russell Co. VA, &
Clay/Perry/Breathitt Co. KY:
I am seeking information which would proof/disproof that the following
three HARVEY Households were the same HARVEY lineage, and whether the
youngest family group may have eventually been those that appear in the
1820 Clay Co. Kentucky Census under the Household of Andrew HARVEY,
Andrew Harvy 1 0 0 0 1 0 - 2 0 1 0 0 - 0 - 0
(one male under 10, 2 females under 10, 1 female 16-18, 1 male 26-46)
Is the above Andrew in Clay Co. KY, 1820, the same as the Andrew Harvey
in Russell Co. Virginia who appears in the 1810 & 1812 Russell Co. Tax
lists, and who also appears in a LDS IGI notation to have been the
Father of three children of Susannah HALL: 1)Peggy HALL b.1810 2)Wesley
HALL b:1812 and 3)Jemimah HALL b. March 1814.
And is the Russell Co. VA Andrew Harvey the same as the son in this
HARVEY record found in the IGI:
1 Andrew HARVEY
+ Susannah WAGGONER m 1790 in Childs, Cecil Maryland
2. Andrew HARVEY b: January 17, 1791 in Leeds, Cecil Maryland
2. William HARVEY b: 1792 Childs, Cecil Maryland
2. Elizabeth HARVEY b: 1794 in Childs, Cecil, Maryland
I would be delighted to exchange information with any other researchers
working on these lineages, and appreciate any information, questions or
comments regarding this Hypothosis!

I am seeking information on the feuding HATFIELD'S and MC COY'S. In
fact, late last year I was corresponding with several list members who
were in the process of compiling the information. But due to the bulk
of their e-mail and busy schedules; we decided that I would make contact
several weeks later. However, due to ongoing mail-server difficulties;
I lost my e-mail...and their e-mail address. So, now that I have
resolved the "mail-server" technical difficulties (AND SOME FREE
TIME!); I am re-posting in hope that they may see this message again!
Anyway, I am told that my G-G-Grandfather CREECH was said to be a cousin
of Devil Anse HATFIELD. And my G-G-Grandmother CREECH-ASBURY was said
to be cousin of the MC COY'S...so I'm looking for information that will
confirm or disprove this.
Best, Dick Pollard :)
I have just recently joined the Wolfe County mailing list. I am hopeful that someone out there can be of help to me.
My grandfather, Daniel Boone Bailey, was a child born out of wedlock on December 9, 1882 in Wolfe Co., probably the Campton area. I am told his mother was a widow. Her married name was Martha Bailey and she gave her child the Bailey name. The supposed father of Boone was Joseph Barker. Boone's death certificate reflects these names as those of his parents.
I am looking for information about Martha's maiden name and who her parents were. Also, what was her husband's name, when did he die, and did they have children?
I would also appreciate receiving any information about Joseph Barker and any of his family. I would assume that Joseph and Martha may both appear on the 1880 Wolfe Co. census, and I intend to research that as soon as possible, but if anyone has those records and could check for me, I would be grateful as I live in Ohio.
I have only recently become aware of the circumstances of my grandfather's birth and there is no one left in my family with information that far back. I can't search my family tree any further until I get some help on Martha and Joseph.
It is somewhat of an odd feeling to realize your name should be something different!
Thanks you in advance for any help you can give.
