I am looking for information on the Young family. My Grandfather was James
Young brn: Nov. 30th, 1890 D:Feb. 26th 1945...married to Maude
Whitaker~Young. Jame's father Was Austin Young brn abt: 1856 (?) and mother
was Minerva (Nerva) Duff. I heard Minerva's mother had children named Duff
and Baker...not sure. Also I heard they were from the back hills of Hazard
(from a place called Blue Grass Hollow now know as Gorman Hollow) I also
heard that my Grandfather was a light skinned black man. My grandmother was
whitw and all of the family look white. But, I think it is a fact they he
was African~American. I know James had brothers...Harrison, Gus, Joe,
Chester and a few sisters, one was named Jane, my mother was names after her
Janie Young. If anyone has any information, please let me know. I really
want to know my family history. It has been kept a secret from me.
