Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
HEIZER, Norma Jean Age 67, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born February 13, 1950 in Hazard, KY. She retired in 2004. Norma was a member of Community Haven Church. She is survived by her husband, Garnett "Rex" Heizer; daughters, Lisa ( Steve) Wood, Kim (Harvey) Bowling, Alexa (Bryan) Cantrell all of Middletown; grandchildren, Dakota, Brandon, Dylan, Kenzie, Dalton; special brother, Harold "Bug" Hall; brothers, Sonny, David; sisters, Dorothy, Patty, Jackie; special sister-in-law, Helen Gross; numerous brother and sister-in-law's and nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Annie (Combs) Hall; first husband, Alex "AJ" Herald; one brother and two sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 11:00-2:00 pm at Community Haven Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Pastor Jerry Back officiating. McINTOSH, Lawrence Age 78, of Carlisle, Ohio, died Thursday March 16, 2017. He was born in Blue Diamond, Kentucky on March 6, 1939 to Edward and Nellie (Cook) McIntosh. He was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School where he excelled as a basketball player and was inducted into the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame on Feb 14, 2014. He earned a basketball scholarship from the University of Tennessee and is listed on the UT Athletic Wall of Fame. Lawrence was an active member of the FOE #2309. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward McIntosh, mother, Nellie R. McIntosh, son, Jeffrey L. McIntosh, brothers, Lendell McIntosh, Beecher McIntosh, Vembert McIntosh, sisters, Viola Wallace and Kathleen Stidham. Lawrence will be greatly missed and remembered by his wife of 56 years Janice (Cochran) McIntosh daughter, Cheryl L. (Mike) McIntosh-Bogan; sister, Reaba Campbell; grandchildren, Michael (Robyn) Bogan, Brittany (Dan) Church, Jessica Bogan, great granddaughters Madilyn Church and Kinsley Church. Funeral services are 11:30am Thursday March 23, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Homes 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Pastor Cecil Venters officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. Nichols, Douglas R., age 81, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Genesis New Lebanon Care Center. He was born April 6, 1935 in Perry County, KY to Hargis and Edna (Summers) Nichols. Douglas was a Sargent for Middletown Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Douglas was a member of FOP # 336 and Eagles Lodge # 528. Douglas is survived by his children, Michael D. Nichols of Canandaigua, NY, George W. (Sharon) Nichols of Germantown, Lori (Alfred) Mothershed of Leicester, NY; grandchildren, Micheal (Andrew) Burns, Nathan (Melissa) Cole, Winona Clay Nichols, Dixie Mae Nichols;2 great-grandchildren, Evan Burns and Evelyn Cole; sisters, Alma (Don) Murphy, Jenny (Sam) Rodriquez, Brenda (Jim) Short and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winona Y. Nichols in 2014; brothers, John and Paul Nichols; sisters, Betty Nance and Jackie Collins. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 11:00-12:00 pm at Woodside Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be follow at 12:00 pm at Woodside Chapel with Pastor Lamar Ferrell officiating. Police Honors will be will be performed by the Middletown Police Honor Guard.
