I believe the early Cobb's in Owen Co., Ky started with Samuel
Samuel moved his family about 1795 from SC to Owen Co., Ky.
The family were Baptists.
Elisha son of Samuel (born 2-19-1794 in SC) went on the be a baptist preacher at the
Muscle Shoals Baptist Church May 1839. He died Dec 1854.
Asa Cobb son of Samuel (born 5-22-1799 Owen Co., Ky) also became a baptist preacher at
several churches in Pendleton Co., Ky, Scott Co and Bourbon Co. Ky
from "A History of Ky Baptists from 1769 to 1885"
I believe (no documentation) that Samuel was born April 30, 1735 and and died 1805 in Owen
County. Buried in the Old Jackson Graveyard on the Davis Farm near Breck in Owen
He married Judith Peake abt 1780 in Donalds, South Carolina - Turkey Creek Baptist Church
(Second oldest church in South Carolina – Founded 1775 ).
this is from Edgar L. Morgan who Published "THE COBBS OF OWEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY"
Former marriage: Bef. 1769, Samuel Cobb had a previous family.
A wife, one daughter, Elizabeth & two sons.
Former offspring: Fall of 1769, Wife and daughter were killed by Indians.
Both sons, Ransom and Humphrey survived.
Military service: September 07, 1776, Enlistment in the Revolutionary War
and fought in battles around Charleston,
discharged after the battle of Charleston in 1780. (Most probably did not
remarry until after his discharge.
Property: May 05, 1786, Received 500 acres along the Reedy River in South
Carolina as payment for War Services. He deeded
this land to his son Humphrey.
We only know the Great Love and all the ways and things
through which the Great Love flows by opening our hearts.

Subject: [KYOWEN] Thomas Cobb, b 1828 (need help)
I am looking for the death date of Thomas Cobb married to Pamela(Permelia Ann)
She had an AKA as Millie for some reason.
Their wedding date 19 Dec. 1850. Also do not have a death date of his wife.
For some reason I can't find information about this Thomas. He was the
father of Jasper Thomas(Jack) Cobb. To get a supplement DAR for old Samuel Cobb
and Judath Peake I need some sort of link. Thomas should be in the 1860 Census
and 1850 as he married in December of 50.
