the 1850 census. Also, had he been born in 1794, he would have been only 12
years old when marrying Sarah Skirvin.
Thank you for catching my error on William Chapman. You are correct that he
64 on the 1850 census and the age of 17 when he came to Philadelphia, PA on
the Roebuck. I apologize for the mistake. Also Sarah Skirvin is shown on
the 1850 census as age 62 making her birth year 1785/6.
Sarah Skirvin died before Nov. 24, 1857 when William Chapman married his
second wife Susan Gross in Owen County, KY. They were married by W.D. Clark,
minister of the Christian Church and the two witnesses were D. Stamper and
I hope this gets the information straightened out.
