When I was a kid growing up near Lusby Mill in Owen County in the 50's and
60's, my dad would occasionally mention a Ms. Kersey, and I think her name
was Delilah. There was a hill on Hwy 330 about 2 miles East of Lusby Mill
that he called the Ms. Kersey hill. I believe I remember him saying that the
Harrison Rose farm (which fronted on this stretch of Hwy 330) used to belong
to this Ms. Kersey.
My dad, Lewis Mason, was born in 1894 near Lusby Mill and lived there most
of his life, and I am sure he probably knew this family. Dad passed away in
1994 at the age of 99.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but this might help you locate the
general area where they lived.

Subject: [KYOWEN] Kersey
Does anyone know if John H. Kersey was married
twice? On his death certificate of 1916, it states that he was born May 3,
1832 to Hickman and Sally (Davis) Kersey. Undertaker was J D Davis of
Corinth, H R Simmons of Corinth was his Dr.
Informant was J T Mason of Corinth. He is not
listed in Grant co, as he farmed in Owen Co.
On the 1870 census, he is listed as age 44, living
with him are Jacob age 27, Delilah age 24, Mary age 2 and John age 1. Does
anyone know where
he is buried or any info about this family? Thanks.
