Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Several people asked for a mailing address. I'm sure Kathryn would
appreciate hearing from people and knowing they are thinking of her.
The address is:
c/o GREEN VALLEY HEALTH & REHABILITATION CENTER
1206 ELEVENTH STREET
CARROLLTON, KY 41008
Just a note to let all know that Kathryn Salyers, the
genealogist-historian of Carroll County, suffered a stroke a couple
of weeks ago. She is currently in Green Valley Health and
Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, not far from her home. She
has lost the ability to speak, but her ability to communicate
improves every day.
She has been a great historical resource for Carroll County and
surrounding areas. Her surname files were filmed some years ago by
the LDS church, and are available through the LDS stake libraries.
Was wondering if any person goes to the old section of Mussel Shoals Cemetery? Supposedly there is a tombstone of Asa Cobb. Asa Cobb, son of Samuel Cobb and Judath Peake. Asa was born in KY 22 May 1799 in Scott County, married Anna O'Banion c 1820 and died 28 Aug. 1852 of cholera.
Asa's wife remarried a John Robertson.
He and Anna are my ggggrandparents.
Also do not have a copy of their marriage record.
Will be glad to pay for the information and copy.
