He was in Owen County on Eagle's Creek and there appears to be no connection
between this John Cobb and Sam Cobb. John Cobb is probably from the Virginia
Cobb line. Elijah Martin bought property from him in 1822. He is also
associated with the mill in Lusby's Mill and at one time owned part of the

What other information do you have on Richard Bennett? A Richard Bennett
married into my Perkins line in the early 1800s. This may be his son. I
have information on the Bennett-Perkins connection. Do you have the bounty
records from Virginia or his pension file showing that he did indeed die in
Owen (or Scott before 1819) County?
I would be interested in knowing if there was a connection between Richard
and John D. Perkins. John D. Perkins was born in Virginia ca. 1760-5 and he
came to what was then Woodford County, KY before 1790. He is not listed in
any of the Virginia files as a veteran of the Revolutionary War and he is
also not listed in the military land warrants for early Kentucky. I have
checked several times.
I look forward to hearing from you.
