Subject: Asberry Williams confederate record
Well, I should have studied the digital pages of that source a little bit.
On page 13, there were remarks for every soldier listed on page 12.
Line 97 Asberry Williams rank Private when enlisted Sept.
15, 1862 where enlisted Carlisle KY
Line 97 remarks: killed in action at Peach Tree Creek, GA in
According to my Civil War Dictionary: Peach Tree Creek, Ga, (Hood's First
Sortie") 20 July '64. (Atlanta Campaign)
I didn't see Co B, Ninth Regiment Cavalry listed as being in the battle, but
the casualty account was as follows:
20,139 Federals engaged, 1,600 killed and wounded, ["although Sherman puts
Hood's losses at 4,796"]
18,832 Confederates engaged, 2,500 killed and wounded.
I hope this helps you.
