Yes, it is the same George W. Ruddell. His daughter, Hannah Margaret,
married George W. Carter, brother of my 3ggrandfather Richard Carter.
Ruddel(l)s Mill is on the South Fork of the Licking River, between
Millersburg and Shawhan in Bourbon Co., and about 3 miles from the Harrison
Good to see you back active on the list. I don't know if my George W.
Ruddell is the same one you are talking about or not. I think he is.
My George W. Ruddell married Margaret Funston and they were the parents
of Polly Ann Ruddell. She in turn married Robert Fulton Porter and they
had Mary Elizabeth who married David Ballingal. Mary and David were my
great great grandparents. I do not have George's parents but was told he
was born 5 Sept. 1790 in Virginia and died 2 Nov. 1851 in Nicholas Co.
Just called a friend who has the Rockingham Co. Virginia Marriages
Pg. 190 has all the male Ruddell/Ruddle marriages
William Ruddle married Athabiah Goore 1788, d/o Joseph.
Bondman: George Ruddell. There was no day or month given for the wedding
just the year.
So William would be a good possible for George W.'s father.
