Robertson County KY Newspapers 1884-1919
A number of years ago, Un. Kentucky microfilmed its collection
of old KY newspapers. I learned that no attempt was made then
to see if missing issues were available anywhere else.
As one of its projects, the Robertson County Historical Society
(RCHS) has been acquiring old newspapers since 1995.
Several hundred issues of the ADVANCE, TRIBUNE-DEMOCRAT, NEWS
and REVIEW were found.
As an aid to family and local history researchers, members
assembled indexes to 2325 births, marriages, deaths and
470 miscellaneous items of interest in the Tribune-Democrat
A similar effort was made for issues of the ADVANCE from 1894 to 1915.
These indexes and images of the papers have been put
on 35 mm. microfilm, one for each newspaper.
In the near future, these two rolls will be available for purchase
from the RCHS for the benefit of the RCHS programs and preservation
A positive 'silver' (longer lasting) roll for $30 plus shipping
A positive 'diazo' (cheaper plastic) roll for $20 plus shipping
Surrounding county libraries should be interested in copies because
many Bracken, Mason, Fleming, Nicholas, Harrison and Bourbon county
people and events are recorded.
Please let me know by email if you or a library you use would be
interested in purchasing copies.
