November images added: 8,142
November transcriptions: 8,140
Wow! It's hard to believe we went into the database system in May with 6,700
transcriptions -- total. Six months later and we are at 36,490. Sometime during December,
we'll hit 40,000 transcribed records!
We've added a number of new volunteers during October and November. Welcome to:

Many of the KyGenWeb county coordinators and assistant county coordinators have come
aboard and are pitching in with great enthusiasm and lots of experience.
By breakdown, we have 6 project administrators, 5 people who are/have been recently
shooting or scanning images, 3 people doing programming and coding, 25 people trained in
processing the images, 16 people proofing and 40 people transcribing. Some people are
working in multiple areas. We have a very solid volunteer team to carry us into 2006!
We are still looking for persons who can help shoot the images and one more person who
can help with programming. These are the only forseeable factors that can hold us back in
the coming months.
Our web space has been purchased for another year and we now have 5 gigabytes of
purchased space, in addition to our space generously donated by RootsWeb. The project is
being backed up nightly and we also have another site where we are backing up all the
images.
December's focus will be on Sheryl getting settled into her new home (getting
possession on Monday) and on everyone having a blessed holiday season. January's focus
will be on programming the site and further training of admins and persons to shoot
images.
Shooting/scanning and renaming of the rejected delayed birth certificate applications is
going well and we hope to have those ready to transcribe in the next couple of months.
Shooting and scanning of the 1911 death certificates will be completed in December and
we'll then begin on 1912. Scanning of the 1852-1910 births, marriages and deaths is
ongoing. Transcription of those will also begin in 2006.
Things are moving slower than planned in the programming area, but both Tanya and I have
had personal and family matters that have taken precedence over the last few months. We
will continue to give you our best effort.
Thank you all so much for your commitment and skills! Thank you even more for your
maturity and respect in dealing with issues and others each day. You bring a wonderful
spirit to the project, which certainly contributes to our success!!
