Hi Everyone,
We have several new transcribers that have joined us, and the rest of us need the
reminder, too. When you're transcribing and/or proofing records, it is VERY important
that you do NOT use the back feature of your browser if you've sent the record before
you mean to, or if you realize that you've entered something where it should not be.
The way our forms and images work together, if you use the back button, even though it
appears that you've got the correct image and record, you'll in reality be
overwriting the most recent record that you've brought up to work on with the
information from the previous image. In effect, what has happened is that two records are
now involved and have been compromised.
Please, while you're working, whether transcribing or proofing, make sure that the
pre-filled information on the form matches the image that you're working on. If it
does not, report the problem using the link to report problems and pend the record.
I'll go through and sort things out as I have a chance.
Right now, I'm aware that there are many records that have been reported as problems.
I'm working on them to get them cleared out, but it may take me a bit to catch up.
Thanks,
Sherri
