We are making some necessary changes as the project grows and evolves. We continue to need
to break down responsibilities and have volunteers become experts in various areas of the
project.
Sherri Hall, who has been an assistant coordinator on the project since it's
inception, will be taking over the imaging area of the project. She is now our Imaging
Administrator. Her duties include planning, gathering and imaging the records, keeping
track of what has been done and what needs to be done, recruiting, training and
supervising the image processors, and handling any image quality problems you run into.
We have many trainees on the imaging team and are still working out the instructions for
them so they can turn out the best images from our rawimages. Thanks for your patience as
we gain experience in this area.
I've added a NEW LINK at the top of the transcription and proofing forms to REPORT
IMAGE QUALITY PROBLEMS. Use that link when you have an image that looks fuzzy, blurry, out
of focus, has brown or black background, edges not cropped off, huge image, too light or
any other problem you think relates to how the image was processed. Please report fuzzy
images BEFORE you try to transcribe them so Sherri can reprocess them and get a better
copy up for you to work from. Pend the record until she gets a better copy. If a better
copy is not available, she'll let you know.
You need to continue to report wrong images using the CONTACT PROJECT ADMINS link for now.
In the near future, we'll have it set up so the Imaging Admin can unlink those using
an online form.
Thanks everyone!!
