Just a forewarning for most of you... I'm currently shooting images from a
roll of 1914 death certificates (beginning with certificate 23101). On the
majority of the images on this reel, the death certificate file numbers are
very difficult to read. Most of them were re-numbered, and in doing so,
"someone" just stamped the new number over the top of the old one. Many of
them also have "bleedthrough" of the writing on the back of the certificate,
making them more difficult than usual to read. (Both of these are artifacts
on the microfilm and I'll not be able to get rid of the problems.)
If (when) you run into these, please check the image carefully before you
report it as an imaging problem and see if the rest of the certificate is in
good shape (legible and appropriate brightness/contrast). I'll still go
back and recheck those that are reported, but if you'd please use the
"contact imaging administrator" link judiciously for this group, I'd
certainly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Sherri
