Hi, team:
The project has received an anonymous $20 donation from one of our project volunteers.
This money will be used to reimburse Sherri Bradley for part of the website expenses she
has paid.
For those new to the project, we do not solicit funds. Occasionally someone makes a small
donation and we use it to defray expenses of this project.
Our project has about $200-$300 in expenses per year. This includes the
kyvitals.com web
space where we house the database and the web site, purchasing a dedicated IP address that
is required to FTP files to the RootsWeb server where we house the actual images, postage
to return rolls of microfilm to the library that loans them (currrently on hold), CD's
to burn the images we've finished to give to the library per our legal agreement,
postage to send the CD collections.
We also personally invest in numerous CD's, DVD's, and large external hard drives
to back up the project. We will never take reimbursement for those items. We've never
even reached a level of donation that pays for the web space, but if we should ever
receive enough to pay the current year's web space, postage, and CD's to be sent
to the library, we would use the monies to pay the next year's web space and
library-related expenses. Beyond that, we would respectfully refuse to accept donations.
Since the project's inception, these expenses have been borne largely by myself and
Sherri Bradley.
I just did not want anyone to think we are profiting from these occasional donations we
receive.
Thanks for all your support and dedication to the project,
Sheryl
