Yesterday we began registering volunteers on the new site. A second group of volunteers
was invited to register this afternoon. Most of the process is going smoothly.
If you would like to work as a volunteer on the project in any capacity and have not
received an invitation to register, please let me know and I will send you the link and
password so you may register.
Once we have everyone registered, some of you will be asked to transcribe a sample
folder.
We will then begin dividing up assignments and preparing to resume work. Transcription is
still some time off, but it is getting closer and I'm really excited.
I do want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been working so hard on the
site. Even though we haven't been churning out transcriptions, there have been many
people working very hard on programming, gathering data for the support areas of the site,
formatting and coding. I don't want to mention names for fear of leaving anyone out.
Please know your efforts are appreciated. It will be worth it. The new site is feature
rich, heavily automated and powerful!!
Good things come to those who work hard and share freely!!
