as a proofer and with the images, even up to the last few months.? She
will surely be missed.

I volunteered for a short time on your project a few years ago. I was
referred to it by a friend of mine, Janet Brown, who is on your list of
"Transcribers, Proofers, Image Processors, Programmers". I wanted to let
you all know, if you didn't already know, that she has died recently. I
know she loved this project and fought a long battle with cancer. I don't
know how much work she has done in recent years, but I know she used to

Janet Sue Herron Brown
Retired County Employee
Memorial services for Janet Brown will be held at 8:00 p.m. on December
31, 2008 at the House and Rawlings Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown, 66, of Miller Lane, London KY, died at her home on Sunday,
December 28, 2008.
Mrs. Brown was born on October 31, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late
Kenneth ?Thermon? Herron and Edna ?Mae? Smith Herron. A retired employee
of the Laurel County Jail, she worked with the Laurel County Historical
Society and served on the Laurel County Cemetery Board, as President,
until the time of her death.
Survivors include her husband Elvis Brown; two sons, Ken Daugherty,
London, and Kerry Daugherty, Charleston, South Carolina; five children
through marriage, Linda Schell, London, Tracy Pierceall, Versailles,
Leslie, Billy and Johnny Brown, all of London; 15 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. and
ask that contributions be made to the Laurel County Historical Society or
to Tri-County Hospice in lieu of flowers.
