As mentioned a few days ago, we're going to be moving the KY Vitals site to a new web
hosting service. This move will be completed by the end of the weekend, and in
preparation for the move, access to the site by staff volunteers - transcribers, proofers
and image processors will be shut down sometime tonight around 10:00 EST. The site will
still be available to researchers that are searching for records, but we've got to
export the database in preparation for the move and we can't do that while records are
being written.
Expect to lose your ability to log on to work around 10:00 EST tonight. This is
planned, so you won't need to notify us of a problem. We should have the site
completely moved and ready for researchers by Sunday and be able to allow staff back in by
Monday at the latest, if all goes well. There will be a time (depending on how long it
takes the web crawlers to find us at the new site when we change the pointers on the
domain) that the site may be unavailable to everyone - again, we're aware that this
will be happening. If you should get complaints that the site is down, please pass the
word on. I'll be posting a notice on the site in just a few minutes.
Thanks for all you do and all your support,
Sherri
