There have been many updates made to pages on the site. For your
information, here are some of the changes:
the transcriber instructions have been updated to reflect the minor changes
made in procedure over the last couple of weeks;
the proofer instructions have been updated to reflect several small changes
in procedure over the last couple of weeks, including the age format issue;
the proofer report sheet and proofer report form have been updated to
reflect the age format change;
birth record submission forms and support pages have been added;
the privacy policy page has been updated to match Kentucky law on birth,
marriage and death records;
the transcription forms for future folders covering this era have had the
"spouse" section removed as we've only had 2 spouse names in over 3,000
certificates. It will be added back in when we get batches of certificates
with spouse fields.
Secondary transcriptions for future folders will output to a single text
file. Proofers will open the file and scroll down the entries as they proof.
We have just acquired a collection of early school censuses covering periods
when no birth records were issued in Kentucky. They contain the names of
parents, students and exact birth dates. They will shortly be transcribed
and entered in the index as birth records, with links to the images.
In the next week, Assistant Project Coordinators for several areas will be
announced.
In the next couple of weeks, an interactive transcription training program
will be added to the site for new volunteers.
It just keeps getting better!!
Thanks for all your hard work,
