Rhonda:
Do not enter a County of Death as you transcribe.
These certificates are in order by month within each county. In other words,
all the January certificates for a specific county will be together and the
counties are in alpahbetical order. Since the certificates for each month
are consecutive by county, the PROOFER will look to see what the county of
death on the previous and next certificate is. If the previous and next
certificate show the same county, the proofer will enter that county into
the field. If the counties are different, the proofer will refer to the KDI
and use the county shown for that death certificate.

Subject: [KVRP] County of Death question
What should a transcriber do if the county is not listed in
the usual upper left-hand section of the certificate? I know
that the county most likely is Calloway but since the
certificate does not actually have Calloway listed how should
I transcribe?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you
Rhonda
