Some transcription assignments went out this morning so you may see some activity on this
list. We had some site visitors contribute collections of death certificates that they
wanted transcribed by our volunteers. These certificates covered all counties and all
years and were assigned to volunteers who would not be receiving assignments from the
group of images we are currently processing for transcription.
We are currently processing images that cover the following counties: Clark, Clay,
Clinton, Crittenden, Cumberland, Daviess, Fayette, Fleming, Floyd, Franklin, Fulton,
Gallatin, Garrard, Grant, Graves, Grayson, Green, Greenup, Hancock, Hardin, Harlan,
Harrison, Hart, Henderson, Henry, Hickman, Hopkins, Jackson.
Many of you have indicated one of these counties as your county of expertise or interest.
These assignments will likely come about Dec. 1 as I'm leaving town tomorrow and will
be gone through the end of the month.
Getting your input on areas of expertise and interest has been very helpful. I believe
assigning transcription in this way will greatly reduce deciphering errors. This does not
mean you won't get assignments for other counties. We will just try to assign records
from your county/counties of expertise first, then we'll surely need help in other
areas.
Everyone will get an assignment shortly. Thanks for being part of this project!
