The name appears to be HOCKINS to me. If you look at the M's
in the words Male, Married, and the Mother's given name they
don't look anything like the first letter in the deceased's
surname. As a transcriber I would put in exactly what is on
the cert. and let the proofer choose one and add the other
as an alternate spelling in the transcription comments
section.

I'd appreciate some opinions about the name of the deceased
on this
certificate.
Apparently, they were not sure about the last name and have
listed
"Jordan Mockins or Hawkins"
But, the informant's signature is clearly Mockins.
Should I put both surnames to show exactly what the recorder
put, or just
the Mockins since it is the most likely choice?
