I think that's what I would do as well, and let the proofer put in the
alternate spellings in Transcription Comments.
By the way, I believe the name is not Mockins but Hockins. Spelled
differently but pronounced the same. This ornate handwriting is hard to
read, isn't it? I'm still puzzling over the mother's surname in this one!
