We are now pretty well into a routine with transcription and proofing. Every county is
assigned for both transcription and proofing.
We are now going to begin sticking with the 30-day rule. Please transcribe or proof your
oldest records first. Unless you have special circumstances, we expect you to have an
image transcribed or a transcription proofed within 30 days. If it looks like you are not
going to be able to meet that deadline, you need to let me know so I can have someone help
you.
There are special circumstances where we'll make exceptions. We have one transcriber
who had surgery this week and asked if we'd hold her records so she has something to
do during her recuperation in the next few weeks. No problem. We have one county that had
a very large number of images. Again, no problem.
We won't be making exceptions for vacations or computer deaths.
We do need to keep things flowing and this seems a fair way. If your folder has images
that are over 30 days old and you haven't asked for an exemption, I will code your
folder to a different transcriber for a day or two so they can transcribe any images over
30 days old. Then it will be coded back to you.
Thanks,
