We've been doing some adjusting of workloads and will continue to do so this week.
We've lost a couple of volunteers and a couple had to cut back due to personal
circumstances. We've gotten some feedback on how each of you is doing. Those who are
performing at acceptable, good or excellent levels are eligible for more county
assignments. Those whose performance is at the poor level cannot receive further
assignments until their performance level reaches acceptable.
As we continue to increase the number of records per month, I wanted each of you to be
aware of how much work you can expect so you can make informed decisions when asked
whether you would like to take on more counties. We can't go by the number of counties
you have since some counties can only expect to receive 1 or 2 records per 1,000 while
some counties will receive nearly 200 per 1,000.
Our goal for July was 4,000 images and 4,000 transcriptions. We've met the images goal
and are at 3,576 transcriptions with 2 days to go. We'll be trying to increase by
1,000 records each month until we reach 10,000, so consider that your workloads by January
will be about 10 times the number next to your name per month by then.
We have about 1,700 images sitting on the site untranscribed. I'd like to see that
number cut in half over the next week or so. Some of you are doing a good job keeping your
folders current. Others have been ill or on vacation. We understand.
Here is the current workload distribution. The number represents the average number of
records you can expect per 1,000 we receive. For those doing both proofing and
transcription, the numbers are combined.
