Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
COMBS, Dorothy (nee Burns) age 88 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully
Friday, March 25, 2011 at Cedarview Health Care with her family by her side.
Born September 17, 1922 in Perry County, Kentucky, Dorothy was the daughter
of Leonard and Rettie (McIntosh) Burns and a loving and devoted wife ,
mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Combs
in 2001, son Edward J. Combs, brothers Ben, Philmore, Dempsy and Floyd Burns
and sisters Fannie Rhodus and Norma Lee Cates; Dorothy leaves behind her
sons Norman "Jim" Combs of Somerset, Kentucky and Leroy Combs of 20 Mile
Stand, Ohio; daughters Mary Ann Baker of South Lebanon, Ohio and Jessie Mae
Howard of Continental, Ohio; brother Ralph Burns of Lexington, Kentucky;
sisters Edna Fay Greer of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Opal Johnson of
Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren Tammy, Tim, Jeff, Phillip, Debbie,
Robert, Denise, David, Steve, Michelle, Greg and Stephen;
great-grandchildren Angie, Timothy, Tabitha, Jeremiah, Jamie, Taylor,
Andrew, Erin, Ryan, Matthew, Ethan, Lacy, Eli, Kaitlyn and Kyle; six
great-great grandchildren and many other family members.
Friends may call on the family Monday evening, March 28, 2011 from 6:00pm
until 8:00pm at the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon, Ohio. Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 11:00am at the church with
Woody jackson and Pastor David Frasure officiating. Burial will follow in
the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, Ohio
I am desperately looking for the book by Hayes Lewis called Entangled Roots published by KY Imprints at Berea. I have searched the net and had no luck- even if someone out there would let me borrow it for a few weeks I would be greatly happy! thanks so much
