I was told since my DNA Test is for the Clark or Clarke surname that it has to be males
who test in my Group with same surname.
But you could purchase the same with a Group rate and get another surname.
I questioned the lady on the phone as to how many people I could test and she said as many
as I wanted to with that surname. I couldn't see how they made any money if several
people test, but I explained to her what I wanted and they said right now they are having
a group special, and I had to pay extra for this Group rate.
I told Her that I wanted several people to test . besides me I had one other male right
now ready to test. She said that was fine and made a not on my order. I guess any other
questions you would have to contact Family Tree DNA
Now maybe once I get people lined up Family Tree DNA may change their minds, or maybe she
was incorrect in the information she gave me, but she talks to people all day so I assumed
she knew what she was talking about, I was willing to pay more if it was needed.
Maybe she misunderstood me, or I misunderstood her that the group rate did not just mean a
10% discount on other tests offered through them. Perhaps I'll call again to be sure.

Could you explain how this works. Unfortunately I do not have a Clark
connection but I am familiar with FTdna and do not know of anything like this
except that joining a group gives a l0% discount on the 37 marker test and
Can a group purchase be made to include any others of the same family name?
or just a small discount for joining the group (l0%)?
In a message dated 11/3/2010 11:04:08 P.M. Pacific Standard Time,
I paid extra to have a group rate. What this means is all Clark/Clarke
males who want to recieve a Y-dna Test in my group can do so now, without more
