Subject: [KYBRECKI] 1/10/2009 Breck. Co. KYGenWeb additions/updates
After being sidelined since Sunday with a bug that took down myself, a couple coworkers
and students, I think I'm back in the saddle again. Before getting sick, I was able
to work on the Archives pages..... the death certificates. The surname pages "A"
through "C" as well as "H", "R", and "S" had
additions to them. I was also able to reconnect some broken links at the cemetery page
level as well as the dc page level. If you all get looking and come across something that
you can't pull up, let me know and I'll get it fixed as soon as I can.
Things are pretty well in place on the new County pages with a "look-up
volunteers" page the last thing to be added. There's a good listing of links,
genealogical and historical societies, AND county resources. If you haven't checked
out the county resources page, please do! On that page are listed all the pertinent
links, mailing info (and email where applicable), and phone numbers for the major
businesses in Breck. Co. that genealogists would need. The Burns Funeral Home in
Cloverport is listed, along with the website... but I'm not sure if they are keeping
the obituaries listing updated. The last posting was in November, which very well could
be true... but I'm finding it hard to believe that someone hasn't used the
facilities since November. Trent-Dowell is listed, as well as their website addy....
their obits are current and updated regularly.
A couple neat additions I found (I'm always looking for new things as these) I found
web pages for the town of Irvington, city of Cloverport, and Breckinridge County. In
addition to that of the Chamber of Commerce web page, there should be some good
information you can glean on town information... and in some cases history. There is also
a page for the local radio station, WXBC 104.3-FM. They are pretty current on listing
their news information if your interested in keeping up with local news.
That should do it for now..... happy hunting!!!
