> Mrs. Nancy Adams, nee Bewley, was born in Breckenridge county, Ky., July
5, 1837, and died of cancer of the stomach and bowels, at her home, six
miles northeast of Keytesville, Sunday, October 25, 1908, aged 71 years, 3
months and 20 days. She was married to Wm. C. Adams, also of Breckenridge
county, Ky., March 11, 1858, where their eldest child, Ida, now Mrs. John
Kuhler, of near Fayette, was born. The first two years of their married
was spent in Kentucky, and in 1860 they moved to this county and have since
resided in the vicinity of Keytesville.
> Besides Mrs. Kuhler, Mr. and Mrs. Adams' marriage was blessed with the
birth of seven other children, five daughters and two sons, as follows:
Sudie, now Mrs. H. T. Garnett of Keytesville; Chris, now Mrs. S.W. Johnson
of St. Louis, Mrs. Mary Divilbiss, widow of John R. Divilbiss, deceased:
Miss Eliza, who lived with her parents; Lizzie, now Mrs. W.H. Smith of
Kansas City; G.K. and W.B. Adams of Keytesville, who, with the sorrowing
husband, one year Mrs. Adams' senior, are still living to mourn the death
a devoted and loving wife and mother whose life is as sweet incense to
ones who are left behind.
> May God bless and comfort them in their bereavement, and may they so live
that they will be a united family around the great white throne. Funeral
services were conducted at Adams Chapel Tuesday, October 25, at 11 o'clock
a.m., by Rev. O.H. Phillips of Keytesville, assisted by Rev. W.J. Parvin of
Maryville, Mo., after which interment took place in Keytesville cemetery.
May she rest in peace and green be the memory of this noble Christian
