Hi folks
Our present roll call period is coming to and end FRI of this week. This session is to
validate and update all our email addresses used as File Managers for the USGW Archives
Project - Kentucky. It is important we close out this year with 100% response from
everyone as being active and maintaining their web pages in good order. To date we have
24 of 36 responses for about two thirds of the FM roster. I am hoping this will improve
significantly before Saturday.
QUICK REVIEW
A scan of the TOC pages reveals a few discrepancies. Your email contact info should be
correct on the web site. Dead links should be repaired as necessary. Housekeeping is in
order and par for the wellness of the web site. There are a lot of great folks
maintaining excellent archival web pages and they certainly will help anyone with the
duties of scripting the HTML codes. Please remember to correctly link back to your
corresponding KYGENWEB home page. There has been many changes in that URL arena this
year. If you have not established contact with your respective county KYGW CC, please do
so at your convenience as it helps to enhance your resources as a FM.
FOLLOW UP
All next week, I will try to directly contact any roll call absences. After that, a
formal inquiry will be made as to the disappearance of any FM. Please make sure you
respond to this Roll Call timely to avoid any confusion or misinterpretations. Our next
roll call will not occur until early next year.
The official status of the KYARCH FM email roster can be found at
http://www.genrecords.org/kyfiles/countylist.php
If your address is not correct in the roster for each county you manage, please report the
error as soon as possible. This roster is used to update the USGW Archives Project data
base for KyArchive FMs and establishes your eligibility to vote in USGENWEB elections.
The address should match the contact info you use on your web pages for each county. It
is also the address that is subscribed to our mandatory FM Mail List (KYARC). All FMs
should have this info updated on the Email Registry [
http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/ ] as a current or alternate address. Please
notify Suzanne or myself if you need assistance with the registry.
My business travel has been overly busy in the recent months and I apologize for the lapse
in maintaining good communication. Suzanne has bailed me out several times with backup
support and we all owe you a great debt of gratitude for her untiring efforts to ensure we
keep our high level of standards in the KyArchives Project.
Best Regards to everyone and thank you for doing a great job this year.
