usgwarchives.org will always work
usgwarchives.net will always work (once everything is moved) as long as we
do not have an all-out nuclear war, in which case we probably won't care
any more.
The only difference is that you will be uploading to
usgwarchives.net.
That way we only have to sync in one direction.
The dedicated hosting service does not provide back-up. I am not sure what
if anything we can rely on dreamhost (dh) to back-up.
The dedicated hosting service maintains the hardware, with a 4 hour
turn-around in the event of a failure (least-wise that is how it should
work). Should a hard drive fail we will have everything stored on dh and
can quickly re-upload.
Once your state has been moved, and you have been notified, your pw at
dreamhost will be de-activated so that you cannot accidentally upload to
dh.
Please pass this info on to your helpers.
