Hey there Tom....
I checked and everything is fine (email address, that is). But I wanted to
ask a question... any maybe it's something you can direct me to so I can go
in and change it myself.
I know when files are uploaded to the Breck. Co. site, notification of every
item (be it from me or someone else) goes to my old email address at
aol.com. As of last April I left AOL and went to PeoplePC. What do I need
to do so that I start getting the emails at my new addy, and not the old
one. While I still can access my old AOL email account, I really want to
get it changed over incase something ever happens.

Hi folks
With all the shuffling and changes that have occurred the last two weeks
for the
KyArchives as a result of changing hands at the helm, I
respectfully request all FMs to check all your web pages in the directory
folders to ensure you are noted as the linked contact for your respective
counties. Should you provide a secondary for your county, all I need is a
name and current email address for that person to keep our records up to
date and accurate.
May I recommend using your Email Registry number as the contact link on
the web
pages. You can pull it off the state page at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/kyfiles.html for convenience. The
biggest advantage is when you have an email change. The only point
necessary to update your current address is the registry rather than many
web pages.
New FMs can take advantage of my recent attempt to better serve all FMs.
I am
setting up a *Help Desk* mail list (KYARCHIVES) that will have open
discussions on topics to support everyone more directly. A lot of training
is expected to pass through those messages. Folks that have already
requested to be subscribed should look for the opening announcements this
weekend.

I travel extensively as a part of my job. Get paid to vacation for a
living
actually! <grin> This means there will be many occasions during the
year when I will be away from my desk. Our Assistant State FM, Suzanne
Shephard, will grab the reins during my absence from any ongoing
communications. I have the advantage of working from my laptop, but this
could very easily be limited if I am over seas, which happens often, or I
can't make a WI-FI or wireless connection domestically.
This year promises to be a real leap forward for us all. There are
several goals I
have established for KyArchives 2007 to include enhanced
training, improved communication, team support and a few more. In the
coming months, I hope you will enjoy the new improvements and especially the
Help Desk. My aim is to serve your needs to the fullest of our ability. I
think we may be off to a good start already.
Be well and enjoy your weekend.
