Hi Lorrie and everyone....
You'd mentioned about the county mailing list and how I email them when we have info.
Actually I got the idea from Donnie Murphy . I'd noticed on the Jefferson County
mailing list and the Shelby County mailing list that he'd let people know what was
going on.... so in thinking it was a great idea to "advertise" to researchers, I
adopted it too. Below is an email from back a month ago. The others are generally in the
same format, but roughly below is how I've done them in the past.
In the header I date it so that it keeps a running tab on when the email was submitted
(and keeps in in chronological order on the list). Then I make sure to say what it is,
and if there are going to be two parts (like on the weekends) I designate which one it is.
Oh, and in my signature (maybe everyone else does it too, I don't know) I make sure
to put my email addy and a link to the TOC site. I never know when someone will be like
me and need that link.
Hopefully this helps give you some ideas.
Have a great one!

Hi all...
Well, we made quite a bit of progress today with the Draft Registration Cards. For those
not sure what all has been added to date, here's a synopsis:
A - 126 transcriptions (complete)
B - 103 uploaded
C - 257 uploaded
D - 239 uploaded (complete)
I - 2 (complete)
N - 25 uploaded
P - 12 uploaded
V - 24 (complete)
Slowly but surely they are coming online... but once finished, they are going to be a very
valuable resource in finding family members. If anyone is interested in helping
transcribe, we could sure use the help! Feel free to email me if you are interested, or
have any questions!
Happy Hunting!
