Donnie, Tom and other file managers,
I enjoyed hearing how you organized your site and why you did so. It
seems our concerns are basically the same, that of organizing the
content so it easier to find.
I agree with both Donnie and Tom regarding the uploading and revising of
web pages. Be very, very careful. This process can be very confusing if
steps are not taken to prevent file loss. It is so very easy to delete
or move a file and not even realize it until later.
I am curious as to see how other file managers will design their sites
because I am looking forward to some good ideas as to how to better
organize my own site. I hope to learn something new.
I chose to use a navbar instead of a TOC because I personally don't like
having to click my mouse button more than I have to. This is probably
because I spend so much time on the Internet. The TOC is a good idea,
though. It is organized and prevents endless scrolling.
I also opted to update my site's revised date as a whole, not page by
page. I use a SSI statement in the footer that automatically changes
the date whenever anything on my site is changed. This is not as
accurate as Donnie's method, though.
I look forward to hearing how others organize their sites.
