I'm researching my great-great-great grandfather, SEYMOUR PRYOR. His daughter
MARIAH married my great-great grandfather, MOSES BERRY, in 1856. Mariah's
mother was Parmitia.
Seymour was emancipated in 1838 by JOHANNA BERRY, widow of THOMAS BERRY, in
MASON COUNTY, KENTUCKY. He was 41 years old.
I want to find out what happened to him. From what I can tell, Mariah was not
freed with him and remained a slave in Mason Co. I don't know anything more
about Parmitia other than that she was Mariah's mother.
I'm seeking suggestions as to how to research Seymour.
Thanks for all help.
When a reference is made about an individual being born in Virginia between 1728-1863, with state boundary line changes, they could have been born in another state.
