Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
We have added a couple of additional streets in Longford Town.
They are Sandy Row and St. Mel's.
This film only has about 3 more "streets" to go. Some of the place names that the FHL
catalog says are on this film are not turning up and so will be dropped from the index for
Status of the 1901 Census
The following are the film numbers for County Longford. The films with two asterisks
indicate the film is done. Or nearly done in the case of the Parish of Templemichael. I
think Andy may have finished 846682.
I expect that we are going to take a break. This is time consuming and costly to continue
as you might imagine. Keeping a film on permanent loan is $10.00 a film. I hate to give up
but I am working full time and can only get to my FHC on Saturdays. I just don't have the
time to spend an hour or two a week copying film images. And at that rate I figure it will
take 10 years to finish.
What we need is for someone to take over this project and keep it going. Several
I can continue to add the pages.

I am researching McCormicks who emigrated from Longford Co. Ireland to
Michael McCormick b. 1824 Longford, son of Catherine and Michael McCormick.
Michael McCormick married Mary Wallace.
I have knowledge of 5 children of Michael and Catherine McCormick and 8
children of Michael and Mary McCormick. However understand that Michael and
may have has 14 children and 7 of them became nuns.
Daughter of Michael and Mary, Michael Agnes McCormick b. Feb 1868 moved to
Illinois, I am wondering if she moved there to be with relatives.
Anyone else researching these names.
I am a descendant of BERNARD CREAMER of County Longford. His brother HUGH
CREAMER married MARY McCORMICK in February, 1789 in Granard, Co.
Longford. Their children (that we know of) were: HUGH CREAMER (Jr.) born
1791, MARGARET CREAMER, b. 1796, BERNARD CREAMER, b. 1798.
