Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
UTV turned my access off suddenly...all I had to do was send it a few
large emails until it was full.
All mail sent to it then bounced, and as Chris says... my mail was
returned a certain number of times (bounced) and the UTV email addy was
unsubscribed automatically. I couldn't unsub as I couldn't send UTV mails...
It bounced off the full inbox! Just fill it. No one can email that
address if it's full!

I shouldn't have used that term. What it means is that if you close an account
and your mail is returned a certain number of times (bounces) the email addy
will be unsubscribed automatically.
You have to be sure and send the unsub request from the email account you want
I wanted list members to know they can do all that for themselves in most
cases. I am here for problem issues.
Hope that makes sense. I confused a few people by using the term bounces. :)
