Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Some of you may have been able to access Otherdays without any problems, but
many of us have been having difficulties since the site shut down briefly at
the end of January.
In spite of numerous e-mails and phone calls, I have not been able to log-on
to the site since that date.
I continued this one-sided correspondence with Otherdays for several
months, and then contacted ODCA, which is the Irish consumer affairs department.
Let me just say that I think Otherdays is the best Irish website, and I
desperately want it to stay in business.
However, to do so, it must respond to it's customers.
I am writing this to ask any similarly disappointed subscribers to contact
me, as there have been developments in the situation.
I am hoping that the sheer number of complaints might accelerate the
investigation, and finally force the company to take action.
PS apologies if you are subscribed to several Lists, as I am posting to as
many as possible.
I have found reference to my Boyce line being from County Donegal. Being that my James Carlan b. 1846 in Ireland, married his cousin, Jennie Boyce b. 1860 in Ireland. I am hopeful that my Carlan line can be traced to County Donegal. James came over to the states in 1864. Jennie, with her father, Dennis, mother, Hannah Sweeney, sister, Eunice, and brothers, Daniel and James also came over in 1864. If they traveled together, they went to PA, possibly Pittsburgh. James application for naturalization was there. I have not been able to find any Boyce applications there but found their final naturalization papers for Daniel and James in Ironton, OH.
What do I do now?
A better way to Internet

His father William born about 1791/92 married Letitia (surname unknown).
William joined the RA at Strabane in 1812.
This is the earliest I go back with my direct family, can anyone suggest
where I go from here in Donegal with this information?
For those who do visit my web site please don't become discouraged by
the link problems you encounter. During the past years little gremlins
have creped into the coding and caused havoc with the hyper links. All
totally my fault, one should not play around with extensions and
things that the Rootsweb server will not accept. The problems will be
cleared up over the next (months/year) by converting from Front Page to
For the present you will have to deal with new links and old links but
the data is still resident on Rootsweb.com server, you may have to get
at it through the back door.
