OLD RESIDENT DIES AT ANITA: Martin Van Buren Robinson, Resident of Lincoln
Twp. For Nearly Fifty Years, Died at Home of Son at Lincoln Center Last
ANITA, IA., March 19, 1915---- M. J. Robinson of Lincoln township,
familiarly known to everyone as ³Doc², died at the home of his son, C. D.
Robinson, at Lincoln Center last evening after a long illness, death being
the result of a general breaking up incident to old age, the deceased being
in his eightieth year.
Martin Van Buren Robinson came to Cass county nearly fifty years ago and
settled on a farm in Lincoln township. He was twice married, his first wife
having died nearly forty years ago and his second wife about twelve years
ago. Mr. Robinson is survived by two children, his son, C. D. Robinson,
with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Mary Wilson of this city. He is also
survived by a brother who lives in the east.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Masonic and Eastern Star orders. He
was also a member of the Christian church. He was a life long democrat and
was well and favorably known in this vicinity.
The funeral services will probably be held on Sunday at the Lincoln
Center church. Rev. P. A. Rickel will probably conduct the services and
interment will be made in the Lincoln township cemetery.
