Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Seeking information on ancestor Zadoc White STEVENS, born Danbury,
Connecticut 26 Sep 1810. Relocated to Knoxville, Knox County, Illinois
about 1855 with his second wife Ann (or Anna) Barnes and five children.
Zadoc was enumerated with his family in the 1860 and 1870 census of
Knoxville, Illinois. In the 1880 census, though, Ann Stevens' marital
status is recorded as "widow." Thus, while Zadoc apparently died
sometime between 1870 and 1880 no record has been found of his death or
burial. An earlier historian of the Stevens family felt that Zadoc had
been somewhere in Iowa away from his home in Knoxville, Illinois. Zadoc
was a stonemason and may have been employed on some project in Iowa when
