OBITUARY - Columbia City (Indiana) Post, June 5, 1912:
Reuben Myers, of Des Moines, Iowa, died at his home in that place Saturday. A
telegram was received by Lloyd Cl__ham Saturday morning announcing his death. Death was
due to cancer of the bowels. Mr. Myers was a nephew of the late Dan Myers of this city,
and was four months younger, being sixty-seven years old at the time of his death. He was
born in Whitley county, and spent his boyhood here. He moved to Des Moines, Iowa, about
thirty-five years ago, and served in various capacities while there. He was state
librarian for several years, but had retired some time before his death. He served with
Daniel Myers throughout the civil war.
Reuben Myers was a son of Levi Myers, a pioneer of this county, and is survived by
one half brother, Ed Myers, of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Balts, of Warsaw and Mrs. Mary Weber
of this city are two sisters. He was a nephew of Mrs. Wald__ch of this city and was well
known here, having made several visits to this city since making his home at Des Moines.
