Found him!
For the last six months I have been looking for Elza Terman.
His mother's 1912 IN obit said he lived in Los Angles. Looked all over in
Calif. Then I got a copy of his mother's Mansfield OH obit, calling him
Elzy and placing him in Mansfield OH. The Marlow genealogy gave him
marrying Stella Marlow in Mansfield. Never found in any census. Finally
began to suspect that he was the unplaced Samuel E. Terman. Right age and
neither of the other two families had a Samuel E. Besides naming a son
Samuel Elza for his father seemed reasonable. Samuel E. Terman lived and
died in Mansfield (I think).
And then there was the problem of Ellsworth Terman who married Clara Lehman
in 1894. Thought she might be the Clara Terman (1886-1906) buried alone
outside of Mansfield. Again there was no other Terman of comparable age,
let alone named Ellsworth and began to suspect this was Elza!
There were a couple of youngsters, Guy and Christian, who seemed to be
orphans in 1910. Clara's children??
From SSI, they seemed to have ended up in Nebraska.
From Yahoo I found several Termans living in NE, one of which had an
email
address. On a long shot I emailed him.
This morning I got an email from my second cousin, Samuel Elza Terman's
grandson!
So delighted had to share.
