Where are Henry Brown and his two wives buried?
Henry apparently doesn't have a gravestone and didn't even get a decent obituary.
His son's obit never mentioned him though the family of his mother Sarah Wise was
mentioned. Son Eli W. Brown wrote a lovely unsigned tribute to his sister Harriet Adams!
But none for his father. Not for lack of resources since the 1870 census showed Henry
Brown worth $14,000. (Son Eli W. Brown was worth over $12,00 himself and was publisher of
the Columbia City Post in 1870).
Why?????
Henry Brown left these children with Whitley Co. roots:
Eli W.=> daughter Florence, wife of Simon J. Hively
Harriet, wife of Lewis Adams,
Elizabeth, wife of Cyrus S. Keiser
Lauretta, w/o Orin Lee Cummins (who had about 8 kids)
What happened to the other sons?
Wish to chat with descendants of Henry Brown (1813-1886) by both Sarah Wise (1815-1854)
& Martha Laughlin (1814- ).
Janet
P.S. Those descended from Sarah Wise will be interested in new findings.
P.P.S. Does anyone know Henry Brown's religious persuasion? Indications that he was
raised as a Dunkard (German Baptist) but his son Eli W. was buried in the Masonic Cemetery
and his daughter Lauretta Cummins in Troy Presbyterian.
