I saw your message posted, asking for info on the parents of Samuel Braden and his wife
(yourGGGgrandparents), who are buried in the Broxon Cemetery, 900S and 700E, Jefferson
Township, Whitley County, IN. Samuel Braden may have been the one who donated the land
for this cemetery. Do you have any info about this? Have you ever been to the Broxon
Cemetery? My church, Saturn Christian Church one mile North of the cemetery on 800S has
adopted this cemetery in cleaning up the grounds, so it doesn't look abanded, thus
reducing the vandilisum. We started Sept 2000 with our first work day. At present, I
think we are about one-third the way towards completion. Are you aware the headsone
for Samuel Braden and his wife has fallen off it's base? Would you be interested in
restoring the stone to the up-right position? On the headstone it states Samuel was
married on March 4, 1830; then, emigrated to Whitley County, IN fall of 1839 from
Westmoreland County, PA. I would!
think his parents may be traced from there. If you are interested just e-mail me back.
Sincerely, Ewing Potts
