Hello Listers,
I am new to this list, but have already had some success in years past in
my research into the Weihe family in Columbia City. I would be interested
in communicating with any one researching the Weihes, Lueckes, and Pooks.
Rudolph and his brother Ferdinand arrived in Columbia City about 1870? and
married the Luecke sisters. They had emigrated from Krone, Prussia and landed
in Columbia City. Ferdinand is buried there. Rudolph had moved his family on
to Chicago before 1900. Rudolph was a barber. I think Ferdinand was a farmer.
They had a half brother named Emil Weihe who was a pharmacist in Fort Wayne.
I am looking for information as to where the brothers had lived in
Columbia City. Especially Ferdinand and his family. I don't know much about
them. Also any ideas when they arrived in town, where they were between
Prussia and Columbia City, and why and when Rudolph left town.
Thanks.
