I am interested in land entered in White county in the 1830s
I would like to know if the Abraham BARR who entered and patented the land was father or
son. The other name on the deed is Abraham SIDES, who is the grandson of Abraham Barr Sr.
and the nephew of Abraham Barr Jr. Abe Jr. lived in Tippecanoe County, IN, arriving there
in 1836. Abe Sr., so far as I know, remained in Lancaster Co, PA. It is Sr. whom I am
trying to trace at the moment. I would like to find out when the land was sold and if
there are any papers that would help me determine which Abraham was involved, and when Abe
Sr. died.
Entering land in White county was:
Barr, Abraham and Abraham Sides
county of residence:Lancaster PA
date: 1836/08/11
Patent dates:
BARR, ABRAHAM location: IN White 9/10/1838 Crawfordsville

An online search and help from the 1896 ownership plat, tells me the land was owned by the
following in 1896:
August HILDEBRANDT
Thomas KENNEDY
S. C. ANDERSON
The land is located northwest of the town of Brookston, although Brookston wasn't
platted until 1853, when the railroad went through. The nearest town in the 1830s was
probably Springboro, a bit further east, on the White/Carroll Co line.
