Thank you so much, Karen.
From census records and Nickey's WW 1 draft card, I know that they
lived on a farm near Wolcott in Princeton Townshop for at least 30 years. Many of the
family are buried in the Palestine Cemetery in Princeton Township. I made one visit there
in 1993 or 94. I am planning a going there again to do a better job of recording
headstones and checking cemetery records.
I have seen Nickey's WW 1 draft card but not for WW 11 which gives me his address in
Monticello. Sometime during the 40s he had the job of janitor at the White County
Courthouse.
I am curious abou the Indiana Marriage citation as I believe that he and Margaret came to
Wolcott in the late 1890s as they are in the 1900 to the 1920s they are listed but in 1930
Nikcy is listed as widow(er) and his son Allie is living with him is also listed as
widow(er).
I am fairly confident that Margaret's last name was Hallar as I was given that name by
her grandaughter Margaret.
Again I appreciate the new information that you gave me. I am interested in documenting
all the childre of Samuel and Emma but my main interest is the Nickey Dewey line.
